Project : Rectory Green, Prestwich.

Client : Emanuel Whittacker.

Timescale : February 2024

Value : £3.6k

Summary :

The client was noticing considerable water ingress through the recently re-bricked garage door due to the location of the ACO drain, resulting in standing water seeping through the pointing between the floor slab and brickwork.

The application of a waterproofing system was requested by the client.

Refurbishment :

Once the ACO drain and surrounding earth was removed to expose the floor slab, JDF RS Limited removed the existing damp-proof membrane, pressure washed the revealed brickwork, and applied the Sika 1 Waterproofing Render System, on top of the Sika Combiflex Tape in accordance with the manufacturer’s specification.

The three-coat render system was applied at 6mm thickness per coat, 500mm below and above the exposed floor slab and a chamfered finish along the top edge.

The excavated area was then infilled back to level, with a new ACO drain installed.

The project was finished ahead of time.
