Project : Arcon House, Lancaster.

Client : WRPS

Timescale : October 2023- April 2024.

Value : £145k

Summary :

Deck access walkways to three floor levels surrounding the rear courtyard were in desperate need of repair and upgrade. The existing metal handrails were badly corroded and the reinforced concrete soffits and edge beams were spalling. The walkway surfaces had been patched over the years leaving uneven and poorly finished surfaces likely to cause trip hazards.

Refurbishment :

JDF RS Limited were employed to undertake the refurbishment works to the reinforced concrete soffits and walkways together with installing a new deck waterproofing system.

Sikafloor Pronto RB-28 by Sika was specified by the Engineer for the deck waterproofing system which required a revision to the previous drainage arrangements.

The balcony soffits and edge beams were repaired using Sika Monotop 615, Monotop 620 and Sikalastic 675W coating system.

Demolition and making good of a condemned three-storey reinforced concrete staircase structure was added to the work package.

The project was delivered on time and within budget.
